Golden Securitas for AIRpipe!
In the category "Innovations for increased safety", AIRpipe Bauregger GmbH from Wallern succeeded in winning the highest award.
Five nominations and two awards for companies from Upper Austria. On September 16th 2008 the "Golden Securitas" was awarded for the third time. The company AIRpipe Bauregger GmbH form Wallern succeeded in winning the highest award in the category "Innovations for increased safety".
At a gala event Dr. Christoph Leitl, President of the Austrian Chamber of Economy, and Dipl.-Ing. Peter Vavken, designated general manager of the AUVA (Austrian Social Insurance for Occupational Risks), awarded the "Golden Securitas". This prize is awarded to small and medium sized enterprises wiht up to 50 employees which have reached outstanding achievements in the sector occupational safety and health protection.
A specialist jury consisting of experts form the AUVA and the Austrian Chamber of Economy, determined five companies in each of the three categories "Health and safety at work", "Innovations for increased safety" and "Young and new businesses" which were nominated for the award. The winner of each category was awarded the prize "Golden Securitas". A nomination is already regarded as a prestigious distinction.
Gold for two Upper Austrian companies
An Upper Austrian company, AIRpipe Bauregger GmbH from Wallern, succeeded in winning the "Golden Securitas" in the category "Innovations for increased safety". Small and medium sized enterprises which pursue innovative ways for the prevention of working accedents and the combat of occupational diseases were eligible for the award in the second category. Accidents caused by chunks of ice that are released by the tarpaulin of a truck and fall on the windscreen of a car behind it are happening time and again. In order to avoid this scenario, the learned landscape engineer Günter Bauregger developed the meanwhile patented tube system "AIRpipe". This pipe system is fixed between the tarpaulin of the truck and the girders; the tubes are pumped up with air before the drive, with the result that the ice is blast away and the tarpaulin is cleared. "Tarpaulins which have been cleard from ice, water and snow make a significant contribution to an increased transport safety" explained Günter Bauregger.
"The AUVA has always considered it as its primary task to prevent working accidents and occupational diseaes actively and efficiently. The measures which are taken by small and medium sized enterprises make an enormous contribution to the prevention of working accidents" emphasized the future AUVA general manager Dipl. Ing. Peter Vavken during the award ceremony.
"With this award we aim to honour the particular commitment of the companies".
Dr. Christopf Leitl, President of the Austrian Chamber of Economy, praised the performances of the companies. "Safety and health are important success factors for Austria's location. The economy therefore supports the further development of efficeient management tasks that are independently controlled by the company. The nominated and prized companies gave proof of their successful implementation to us."
